How I Got Here

Hi! I’m Rachel. I’ve been working in the digital marketing world for over a decade. I have a passion for product photography, animals, and small businesses. I feel a deep appreciation for creators of all types, whether that be builders, artists or DIYers. My father has owned his own construction business my whole life, which set me up with a curious mindset about how things work and a belief that I can solve any problem presented to me. Being multi-passionate has lead me in a LOT of different directions, but I’m finally settling down with only a select *many* of those passions!

In 2022 my partner in life, Brian, and I moved onto some land in Templeton, CA with a barn and a tiny home, and immersed ourselves in a whole new lifestyle. Outside of work, our lives consist of caring for our trio of horses, small flock of chickens, and entertaining our extremely needy cats and dogs.

We love making great food, outdoor adventures, learning new tech and always enjoy a good game night. We don’t have it all figured out – but we’re doing our best to have fun while we get there!

Our Lifestyle

Before we ever met, we were both known amongst our peers as the go-to people for all questions about technology, particularly computers. Brian worked as a Digital Content Specialist for nearly a decade on cruise ships, while I dabbled in all areas of marketing & content creation. My constant focus has been lifestyle product photography and videography, and sharing content about my horses with my amazing community on Instagram through my equine account, @Nantucket_Blue.

When Brian & I first met, we bonded over horses, dogs, building things, video editing and spreadsheets. And let me tell you, the spreadsheets have gotten WILD since then. And while he was hesitant at first, he’s also become nearly as obsessed with our two cats as I always have been. Neither of us saw ourselves ever becoming farmers, homesteaders, ranchers or the like…but we LOVE the farm-ish lifestyle we’ve created together. We’re a blend of Tekkie & Farmish.

The Trio

The Trio consists of Tucker, Trubee and Adee. Their “full names” are Nantucket Blue, Booties Troubador, and Adelaide. Tucker and I first met when we were only 3 & 13. Our journey together began about a year later, and we’ve been doing life together ever since! While we were in college together, we met Trubee in a riding class. The next quarter, they lived together off campus and Trubee was determined to make Tucker his best friend. After a few months, Tucker had to admit that the annoying little dun had grown on him. They have been together ever since! Many years later, after moving to our current home, we opened our hearts to finding a third horse – and soon were presented with Adee. She fit in immediately, bringing the right balance of mustang wisdom, youthful energy, and female sass to the older boys. Together, they make up the perfect little Trio.

RIP Loki

2012-2023

My dedicated bestie and sometimes coworker, Loki, passed after a quick onset of symptoms in September of 2023. He was nearly 11 years of age, and doing so well! He is deeply missed, and we are so grateful to have such a large vault of content featuring this special boy.
